What is a Heart Arcana?
The Matrix of Destiny uses birth-date calculations and the 22 Major Arcana to assign symbolic themes to different chart positions. The Heart Arcana refers to one relationship position, rather than your entire chart or a card drawn randomly from a tarot deck.
Its interpretation invites questions such as: What helps me feel cared for? How do I express affection? Which habits make closeness easier or harder?
The calculation is repeatable, but its meaning is interpretive. A Heart Arcana is not a scientifically validated personality assessment or a prediction about your love life.
How to find your Heart Arcana in a Matrix of Destiny chart
- Generate your personal chart with your day, month, and year of birth.
- Look for the heart symbol in the lower part of our chart.
- Read the red numbered circle directly beneath the symbol. This is your Heart Arcana in our layout.
- Interpret that number in the context of relationships, then consider the surrounding Love Line.
The large center number is a different position. The number associated with the dollar symbol is also separate. Green points associated with the Anahata or heart-chakra area should not be substituted for the relationship Heart Arcana.
Other calculators may use different colors, position names, or formulas. When comparing results, check which point a guide calls the “heart” before comparing its number with yours.
Is a love arcana calculator the same thing?
Sometimes people use love arcana calculator when they want to find their Matrix of Destiny heart number. However, the phrase can also describe a tarot birth-card calculator that adds all the digits in a birth date and interprets the result through a relationship lens.
Those calculations are different. Our Heart Arcana comes from several positions in the Matrix of Destiny, with each stage reduced before calculating the next.

How to calculate your Heart Arcana by hand
The following method matches this site's calculator. It uses digit-sum reduction: keep numbers from 1 to 22 unchanged; when a total exceeds 22, add its digits and repeat if necessary. For example, 29 becomes 11, while 22 stays 22.
First calculate five main values:

M, L, and K are labels used here to make the arithmetic easier to follow. Reduce each step before using its result in another sum. Adding everything together first can produce a different answer.

The Heart Arcana for this example is 7, The Chariot, under our calculation convention. A tool that simply sums every birth-date digit would return 3 for the same date. That difference illustrates why the formula matters.
What does your Heart Arcana mean in love?
Read your result as a question you can explore, rather than a description you must accept. Each archetype can suggest both a helpful tendency and something to watch for.
For Heart Arcana 7, The Chariot, try exploring the relationship between independence and shared direction. Do you make room for another person's pace, or assume that love means following your plan? A practical conversation might begin with: “What would we both like to work toward this year?”

Choose one question that fits a real experience. If an interpretation does not fit, you do not need to force it. A number cannot establish what another person feels or how they will behave.
Heart Arcana versus the Love Line
In this calculation, the Heart Arcana is the middle position in the three-point relationship sequence M → Heart → K. The wider Destiny Matrix Love Line includes all three values.
For the worked example, the Love Line is 18 → 7 → 7, while the individual Heart Arcana is 7. This is why a guide discussing three relationship numbers may give a more extensive reading than a single heart-number interpretation.
A compatibility chart is different again: it uses two people's birth dates. Sharing a Heart Arcana with someone does not, by itself, establish compatibility.
Common questions about the Heart Arcana
Does my Heart Arcana change with age?
Not under this formula. It is calculated from your birth date, so the result stays the same. Your interpretation may change as your experiences and priorities develop.
Does gender change the calculation?
No. Our chart arithmetic uses your birth date. Any gender selection used to address a reading does not change the Heart Arcana number.
Can my Heart Arcana tell me who my soulmate is?
No. It cannot identify a future partner, predict when you will meet, or guarantee a successful relationship. Use it to reflect on your own choices and conversations.
Why does another calculator show a different number?
Check the date format, the position being labeled, and the reduction rule. Some tools calculate a tarot birth card, some use a different matrix convention, and some use “heart” to describe a chakra position.
Is The Lovers the best Heart Arcana?
There is no objectively best heart number. The Lovers is one symbolic theme among the Major Arcana; it does not guarantee romance. Likewise, Death or The Tower should not be read as a forecast of a breakup.
